Being an empty nester brings a whole new mind set : there are somethings you should know, somethings you should avoid and somethings you should embrace:

Whenever you get teary eyed or nostalgic and miss the kids just remember:

The cost of raising a child in 2007 is $658,582

For the academic year 2006-7, the average cost of tuition, for room and board at a public university was $12,796; for a private school, the total averaged $30,367

If you brought your kids a car

MSRP Range: $15,610.00 - $22,600.00

And think of all that gas money they needed!

The Bridal Association of America estimates the average 2007 wedding will cost $27,710.

This shows something to avoid as you move into the empty nest years!
