I Need Help Too

I never thought I would see the day when a Republican President worried about the little people. Yesterday Bush announced a plan to bail-out the sub-prime mortgagees with a five year freeze on mortgage rate hikes. The cynics will say that 5 years will put off the problem through this election period and to the end of the next President’s first term, after which it will explode again. The plan does strike me as un-conservative though, if there is such a word. We have heard many reasons for the cause of the problem and I’m sure every one of them had a part to play. No matter the reason someone here is making out like a bandit. I can’t get a straight edge on the money flow but I’m guessing this is a new welfare program. I’m just not sure who the recipient of government cash is. (My cash) I’m sure we will learn more about it today. Bush said the program will help a million people and I’m sure they will sleep easier tonight but there are tens of millions of people worried about Medicare and Social Security. By this action he has signaled that even Conservatives will print money if there are enough voters. I guess I shall stop worrying about my future because the government will take care of me. Of course, that is exactly what welfare of any kind does to people and companies.
