I thought I would have a change of pace today and talk about three very different blog sites related to music that I recently found. Yes, this gives them a plug but they deserve one. Growing up in England I have a special affinity with the time of the English invasion. Many of those pop groups played at my local dance hall in England, which is where I met my wife. It was a time when the Beatles were unknown in the U.S. but were skyrocketing in the U.K. Right behind them were The Rolling Stones, The Hollies, The Animals, The Dave Clark Five and Gerry and the Pacemakers, to name just a few. Most of us had no idea of the phenomenal explosion on the horizon. The first site I want to mention is dedicated to the Beatles. If you want know anything about them go to Gilan Israel’s site The Beatle Invasion. Take a crack at the Beatle Quiz while you are there, its fun. It’s wall-to-wall Beatles and a lot of interesting posts.
The second site is dedicated to a different type of music. Over at Guitar Boomer you will mingle with the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers and The Eagles. This is a site for aging rockers and interesting it is, especially for those of you who grew up on the U.S. side of the pond.
The last site is not Boomer specific but I know our age group likes to sample today’s music. If you want to test the waters on something very different then this might be the place for you. Each Note Secure is a Cincinnati Music Blog that will introduce you to performers and groups travelling the smaller venues and clubs. These folks tour the country and will be radically different from the other two above. Give it a try.
Happy listening/blogging/viewing!

Thanks for visiting! It must have been something being there during the “invasion”. Great music continues to come out of Britain and we sure enjoy that export.
It sure was, especially since the bands were playing local dance halls before fame propelled them on a different course.
