Tax Rebate Checks: It must be an election year. The government is going to send out checks to just about everyone. Of course, they don’t have any money but that isn’t going to stop them. It reminds me of someone who is maxed out on all credit cards and applying for another one.

The Stock Market: Sure it’s a mess but these cycles are absolutely normal. I’m only surprised by how well it has bounced off bottom in the last few days. Dead cat bounce or not, we came close to the -20% official bear market measurement and are well below the -10% correction level. You could almost feel this coming and now the market has vented where next? I saw that Citibank have lowered their projection for the DOW to be over 15000 by years end. (Previously they said over 16000) I’ll settle for 15000, no, I’ll settle for 14000!

Heath Ledger: Probably a nice guy and making headway in his career. I feel sorry for him and his family but media coverage is way over the top.

Global Warming: It’s freezing here.
