This is my favorite area in the mountains. Weaverville is a well kept small town just minutes from Asheville. Beaver Lake is in the northern suburbs of Asheville. Pictures below, Weaverville first:
Waynesville is a small town a short drive from the Smoky Mountains. Its main street is vintage small town America and attractive. Pictures below:
Another day in North Carolina saw us in the beautiful Lake Lure area. This is the place of million dollar homes and million dollar views. It’s about a twenty minute drive from Asheville and very close to chimney rock. Pictures below:
We just spent time in the mountains of Western North Carolina looking at possible retirement locations. In the following week I will post pictures of the area. Today is Lake Junaluska, a spiritual retreat just outside Waynesville and close to the Smoky Mountains and Maggie Valley.
